"The only luxury he allows himself is buying books, paperback books, mostly novels, American novels, British novels, foreign novels in translation, but in the end books are not luxuries so much as necessities, and reading is an addiction he has no wish to be cured of."
- Paul Auster
Happy Paperback Book Day!
To celebrate today I thought I’d do a short little mid-week post just showcasing a few of my favourite paperback covers. I have a real bad habit of judging a book by its cover if it’s one that I haven’t heard anything about, absolute wrongun! I do much prefer the look of hardback books - of course - buttt today is paperback only so I’ll give my praise where it’s due.
It will come as no shock to you guys that one of the covers I love is that of ‘The Night Circus’- Erin Morgenstern. I love how it follows the same black and white colour scheme as the actual circus with splashes of red to indicate the Rêveurs signature.
'The Sin Eater's Daughter'- Melinda Salisbury wowwww! All of the books in this series are absolutely beautiful, I haven’t found any that top them. I haven’t actually read this yet but it is on my list to read after I finish the ACOTAR series, re-read the Caraval series, start The Priory of the Orange Tree... I have way too many unread books on my shelf.
Another on my unread shelf is ‘Viper’, I was given this book in one of my monthly book boxes by Fairyloot. I’ve only bought a few of their boxes but one included the special edition ‘Finale’- Stephanie Garber, and all bits associated with it which was freakin’ awesome!
I love this cover as I’m a little in love with snakes and I just feel like this cover has made him look not only beautiful but also a little magical.
